Pallet Town Watch Order is a free, fan-made tracker for watching the Pokémon anime in story order. This page explains, in plain words, what we store about you, why, who helps us run the site, and how you can see, change or delete it.

The short version

  • You can use the whole tracker without an account. Your checkmarks then stay in your own browser.
  • If you make an account, we store your email address and what you've checked off, so your progress follows you to any device.
  • We record how the site is used (pages visited, device type, checkmark actions) to improve it. Visitors without an account are counted with a random ID, never by name or email.
  • The site shows ads from Google. Google and its partners may use cookies to choose those ads, and you can turn off personalized ads.
  • We never sell your email address, account or watch progress.
  • You can reset your progress or delete your account at any time on My account.

If you use the site without an account

In your browser only: the episodes you check off, and when. This stays on your device and we can't see it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Sent to us: a random visitor ID made by your browser (it doesn't contain any personal information), the pages you visit, whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer, and what you check off (for example "checked one episode on the Master List"). We use this to count visitors and see which features are used.

If you create an account

  • Log-in details: your email address and how you log in (email and password, an email link, or Google). Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed) by our log-in provider; we can never see them.
  • From Google, if you use "Continue with Google": Google shares your email address, and may share your name and profile picture. We only use the email address.
  • Your progress: each entry you've checked off, the date and time, and whether you checked it one at a time or with a bulk button (like "Mark all watched"). We also keep a history of every check and uncheck.
  • Account activity: when you joined, when you were last on the site and on which page and device, and when you log in or out.
  • Security records: requests to change your email (with the old and new addresses), password changes and resets, and wrong current-password attempts on My account. These help us protect your account and look into problems.
  • If you checked things off before signing up: those checkmarks are added to your new account.

Why we use it

  • To run the tracker: saving your progress and showing it on every device you log in on.
  • To keep accounts safe: confirming email changes, resetting passwords and spotting suspicious activity.
  • To improve the site: overall numbers like visitors per day, which pages and devices people use, and how far people get in the series.
  • To send account emails: sign-up confirmations, log-in links and password resets. We don't send newsletters or marketing.

Services that help run the site

We don't sell or rent your email address, account or watch progress. These services handle some information on our behalf to run the site:

  • Supabase: our database and log-in system. It stores your account, progress and the usage records described above.
  • Vercel: hosts the website. Like any web host, it receives your IP address and basic browser details when pages load.
  • Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google" to log in.
  • Google Fonts and jsDelivr: deliver the site's fonts and a piece of code it uses. They receive your IP address when they send these files.
  • An email delivery service: sends account emails such as confirmations and password resets.
  • Google AdSense: shows the ads on the site (see Advertising).

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users from abuse.

Browser storage and cookies

Our own storage: the site uses your browser's storage for things it needs to work: keeping you logged in, your checkmarks, a list of changes waiting to be saved if you're offline, and the random visitor ID. We don't use this to track you on other sites.

Advertising cookies: Google and its partners set their own cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads. These are explained under Advertising.

You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. Clearing our storage logs you out and, without an account, removes your checkmarks.

Advertising

Ads help keep the site free. They're shown by Google AdSense to every visitor, with or without an account.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Google may also work with other ad companies to show ads here.
  • These companies receive information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and the page you're on. They don't receive your email address, your account or your watch progress from us.

Your ad choices

How long we keep things

  • Your account and progress: until you delete your account. "Reset my progress" clears your checkmarks but keeps your account.
  • When you delete your account: your log-in, profile, progress and checkmark history are removed. Usage records stay for our overall statistics but are no longer linked to you, and email addresses in them are removed.
  • Usage records from visitors without an account: kept for statistics, linked only to the random visitor ID.
  • Advertising data: kept by Google and its partners under their own policies.

Your choices

  • See and change: your email, password and progress are on My account.
  • Start over: "Reset my progress" on My account clears every checkmark.
  • Delete: "Delete my account" on My account removes your account and progress for good.
  • Ask us: for a copy of your data, a correction, or anything else about your information, email us at the address below. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to some uses of your data or to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

The site isn't meant for children under 13 to create accounts, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Anyone can use the tracker without an account. If you believe a child under 13 has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and our database only lets each person read and change their own progress. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password you don't use anywhere else.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we'll make it clear on the site.
